Our second day in America and here we are, in a beautiful Washington D.C. - capital of the United States.
It was a dreamy sunny day. And the city itself is so much different than New York. Much cleaner, streets are larger and all buildings are relatively low.
International Trade Center on the background.
Beautiful streets of Washington.
Mostly stone and brick buildings.
You can see the United States Capitol Complex shining at the end of the street.
And here is the famous Washington Monument.
Many airplanes landing right in front of it. I suppose somewhere near by must be an airport.
The Washington Monument, Washington D.C., Unites States.
The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to commemorate the first U.S. president, General George Washington.
It is located in the center of the Washington. To the left of it can be seen the White House with president Obama in it. Probably. :)
In front of it is the Capitol Complex and to the opposite side is Lincoln Memorial which unfortunately we totally forgot about. Shame on us.
We decided to have a brake and take some photos.
Shooting capitol in Washington D.C., United States.
Capitol Complex looks gorgeous. Maybe this is the reason we forgot about Lincoln Memorial since we wanted to have a closer look at the Capitol.
Mobile report in Washington D.C., United States.
The sun was really hot, so we decided to have a little shower right away :)
It was about 34C hot that day. We even got sunburn whilst walking.
A small little house right in the center of the city. Looks interesting. We were about to see very similar house in Dallas a week later.
Before going to the Capitol we decided to see the White House.
It's the closest you can get to it. To be honest nothing special about it. It's not that big, can't be accessed and doesn't leave much impression.
Next stop - the Capitol.
It was getting hotter and hotter so we weren't saving water since you can buy it on every corner or just drink from special places for free as it is shown on one of my previous photos.
Capitol, Washington D.C., United States
Taking a break for photos.
So here we are.
It is the meeting place of the United States Congress.
In front of it is a large fountain. Strangely we didn't find that many tourists as we were expecting.
This is a view from the Capitol Complex to the Washington Monument.
Well, this is probably the closest you can get to the Capitol.
American explorers. :)
This is the result of a long long day. But we still had the whole evening.
In the evening you can see Washington in a totally different perspective.
People enjoying a nice weather.
It is 169.2m high and you feel really tiny standing right next to it.
Capitol during the sunset.
Nightlife in Washington becomes even more beautiful.
Almost every building in the center of Washington has been enlightened.
You can see this building in many movies like "X-Files" for example.
